We are thrilled to share the success of our recent cyber awareness session at National Hill View Public School (NHVPS) in RR Nagar. Over two days, this impactful event focused on educating and empowering students to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. The session was expertly led by Ms. Priyanka Vaidyanath, who provided valuable insights and practical advice to the young participants.
Day 1: Empowering Grades 8-12 On the first day, we engaged with students from grades 8 to 12, covering essential topics such as cyber hygiene, online safety, and the risks of interacting with strangers online. The session highlighted the importance of regular software updates, creating strong passwords, and being cautious when sharing personal information online. Students also learned to recognize phishing attempts, avoid suspicious links, and set appropriate privacy settings on social media platforms.
Day 2: Guiding Grades 5-8 The second day was dedicated to students from grades 5 to 8, focusing on critical issues like cyberbullying and safe gaming practices. The session aimed to raise awareness about the impact of cyberbullying on mental health, the importance of reporting and standing against online harassment, and promoting safe gaming habits. We discussed the use of secure passwords, understanding game ratings, setting time limits, and being mindful of in-game purchases.
Each session was not only informative but also engaging, making it easy for students to grasp the importance of digital safety in today’s tech-driven world. The enthusiastic participation and thoughtful questions from the students were truly inspiring and underscored the importance of these sessions.
Why Cyber Awareness Matters? Educating the younger generation about cyber safety is crucial in fostering a secure online environment. By equipping students with the knowledge and tools they need to protect themselves, we are helping to build a safer digital future for all.
